Yes, since this is an open book assessment, in-text referencing will be required to acknowledge all sources referred to, however a reference list at the end is not required.

Each Online Summative Assessment session even though designed for 3 hours, has a 5 hour duration and this allotted time caters for amongst other things, reading time, referencing and any technical issues etc. that may be experienced by students during the session.

Furthermore, since this is an open book assessment, students should ideally have collected all their sources, and have their relevant references prepared in advance and as a result be able to easily reference in-text during the online summative assessment.

In regards to the number of references, we haven’t prescribed a minimum number or limit, however a student should be guided by the module and programme as well as the requirements of the question and mark allocation for each question .
